Marsee to Teach Beginning Oil Painting CE Activity at SWOSU

Beginning Oil Painting is a continuing education class that will be offered at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford starting on September 12.

The class will meet Monday mornings through October 17 from 9 a.m. until 12 noon and will be taught by Bobby Marsee of Weatherford.

The course is designed to introduce the basic elements of oil painting to students with little or no experience. Instruction will be given on preparation of materials and specific exercises will be assigned so that students have the opportunity to explore color, light, texture and composition. Demonstrations of different techniques will be given. The cost is $150 plus supplies.

Formally trained in the academic style of painting, Marsee received his bachelor's degree in Fine Art from the University of Science & Arts of Oklahoma in 1993. Mentored by painters Hollis Howard and Kent Lamar, Marsee is an award winning artist who specializes in painting portraits in oil.
