Bruce Magill Named to SWOSU Foundation Board of Trustees

Weatherford area businessman and civic leader Bruce Magill has been named to the Board of Trustees of the Southwestern Oklahoma State University Foundation, Inc.

Magill’s accession to the board was unanimously approved by the Foundation Trustees during the board’s recent meeting on the Weatherford campus.

“Bruce Magill has been a steadfast friend and supporter of his alma mater and brings years of philanthropic experience and community service to the table,” said SWOSU Foundation Executive Director Garrett King. “Bruce’s service on our board will be of much help to the Foundation in keeping our strong commitment to prudent stewardship of gifts to SWOSU and fulfillment of donor intent.”

Magill (Class of 1970) studied accounting at SWOSU and is the founder of Magill Insurance and Real Estate in Weatherford. He has served in numerous capacities with the Weatherford Area Economic Development Foundation, Weatherford Industrial Trust, and Weatherford Kiwanis Club. He has served as treasurer of the Federated Church for 40 years. In 2007, Magill served as chair of the Independent Insurance Agents of Oklahoma Board of Directors. Magill and his wife, Terry, are parents of three and grandparents of seven.

Magill will serve on the Foundation’s Finance Committee.
