SWOSU Hosting Class B Basketball Tourney this Weekend

Southwestern Oklahoma State University will host a Class B boys and girls area basketball tournament this Thursday through Saturday (Feb. 23-25) on the Weatherford campus.

Games on Thursday will be played in Rankin Williams Fieldhouse, and Friday/Saturday contests will be held in the Pioneer Cellular Event Center.

Two boys and two girls teams from the area tournament will advance to the state tournament March 2-4 at the Oklahoma Fairgrounds in Oklahoma City.

Game play begins on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. with the Calumet girls taking on Chattanooga followed by the Granite boys facing off with Indiahoma at 3 p.m. Games will resume at 6:30 p.m. when the Granite girls play Gracemont. The final game of Thursday night will be between the SW Covenant boys and Duke at 8 p.m.

Friday’s games at 1:30 and 3 p.m. will feature the winners of Thursday’s games. The Friday evening games will be the winner’s brackets contests featuring Hammon vs. Duke in the girl’s game and Calumet vs. Earlsboro in the boy’s game. The girls play at 6:30 and boys at 8 p.m.

Saturday’s games at 6:30 and 8 p.m. will feature the teams winning on Friday afternoon vs. the losers of Friday night’s games.

Cost of admission is $5. SWOSU I.D.’s are not accepted at playoff tournament games.
