SWOSU Faculty to Get “’Pie’d”

Phi Alpha Theta at Southwestern Oklahoma State University is hosting its first ever “Pie a Professor” contest starting October 9 on the Weatherford campus.

Phi Alpha Theta students are raising money to help with transportation and lodging expenses for the organization’s upcoming national conference.

Voting containers will be set up at the front desk of the Al Harris Library and will remain until October 27. SWOSU faculty members in the running include Dr. John Hayden, Dr. Fred Gates, Dr. Becky Bruce, Dr. Sunu Kodumthara and Laura Endicott. The person with the most money in their jar will get “pie’d” at the Homecoming Tailgate Party on November 4.

Phi Alpha Theta will also be selling raffle tickets for $1 for students who would like the chance to be the person to pie the professor. The raffle ticket will be drawn right before the “pieing” on November 4, and the student must be present at that time to win.

For more information, contact Phi Alpha Theta President Kyra Schmidt at schmidtkl@student.swosu.edu or follow their Facebook page, SWOSU Phi Alpha Theta National History Honor Society for updates regarding the fundraiser.
