SWOSU-Sayre Radiology Students Win Scholarships and Prizes at Convention

Southwestern Oklahoma State University-Sayre radiologic technology students recently won scholarships and prizes at the annual convention of the Oklahoma Society of Radiologic Technologists (OSRT) in Tulsa. 

Shay Compton of Cheyenne and Krista Barber of Sayre won first place and $150 for a medical imaging display that they created. 

Compton and Karen Stephens of Verden were also each awarded $100 OSRT scholarships.

Courtney Calvert of Clinton won $50 for finishing second in a Jeopardy-style competition called Wilhelm’s Trivia. 

Additionally, each participating radiologic technology program designed a T-shirt for the seminar.  The SWOSU-Sayre program won the People’s Choice Award for best T-shirt design.

Students also attended educational sessions hosted by radiologic technology professionals who discussed real-world medical imaging issues. 

SWOSU-Sayre radiologic technology program faculty members Jess Parker and Sheana Thompson accompanied the students.
