122 Pounds of Unused and Expired Drugs Collected at SWOSU Drive
The Southwestern Oklahoma State University American Pharmacists Association – Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP) chapter recently hosted a Drug Take-Back Day on the SWOSU campus. The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) partnered with the Weatherford Police Department and SWOSU Campus Police to help collect 122 pounds of unused or expired medications from the Weatherford area. OBN has a partnership with Covanta Energy in Tulsa, where all the collected medications are safely destroyed and converted into clean energy. This is the third year that SWOSU APhA-ASP has been able to host this event.
