Valencia and Woods Representing SWOSU at Miss Oklahoma Pageants

Miss SWOSU Melissa Valencia of Marlow and Miss SWOSU’s Outstanding Teen Katelyn Woods of Lawton (Eisenhower) will represent Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford at the Miss Oklahoma Pageant set for June 5-9 in the RiverSpirit Casino Resort in Tulsa.

Miss and teen pageant preliminary competitions will be Tuesday-Friday with the Miss Teen Oklahoma Pageant finals on Friday, June 8, at 7:30 p.m. and the Miss Oklahoma Pageant finals on Saturday, June 9, at 7:30 p.m.

Valencia will compete among 45 hopefuls during the Miss Oklahoma Pageant, and Woods will be among 33 teens competing for the Miss Oklahoma’s Outstanding Teen title.

Valencia is competing in the Sigma group. She will have her interview session, on stage question and evening wear competitions on Tuesday. Her swimsuit competition is Wednesday and she will perform her vocal talent—O mio babbino caro—on Thursday. 

Woods is part of the Omega group. Her interview is on Wednesday, jazz dance talent—Brand New—is Thursday, and her active wear, on stage question and evening wear competitions are on Friday.

The winners of the pageants advance to the Miss America Pageant and Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant later in the year.
