Block Party and Dance Planned Thursday at SWOSU

A Dawg Days Block Party and Dance takes place Thursday evening, August 23, at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.

HYBRID, a unique musical performance group that has found a way to merge the best qualities of both a band and a disc jockey while also incorporating a new and exciting way to include professional video and lighting into the production, will be featured at the outside dance that starts at 9 p.m. around the clock tower area. The dance will run until 12 midnight.

Jason Barr, assistant director of SWOSU Residence Life and Housing, said it will be snowing “snowflake shaped bubbles” during the entire dance with two artificial snow machines stationed at the dance. There will also be glow sticks and glow necklaces.

From 5-9 p.m. on the Burton House lawn, there will be several inflatables and other games to enjoy and free food and drinks for everyone. A live band will also perform during the four-hour period.
