Mangum Pair Win Miss SWOSU Pageant Titles

Meaghan Dorn, junior from Mangum at Southwestern Oklahoma State University, won the crown of Miss SWOSU 2019, and Lynsi Lively, junior at Mangum High School, won the title of Miss SWOSU’s Outstanding Teen at Saturday’s (November 3) pageants on the Weatherford campus. 

Dorn will represent SWOSU at next summer’s Miss Oklahoma Pageant, while Lively advances to the Miss Oklahoma’s Outstanding Teen Pageant, which is held the same week at the Miss Oklahoma Pageant in Tulsa. 

Dorn won $2,400 SWOSU and $187 Children’s Miracle Network scholarships; $1,000 cash award; and over $3,000 in gift certificates and various gifts from area businesses.  Her platform issue is “The Love Foundation-Heart Health Awareness.”  Dorn becomes the first former Miss SWOSU’s Outstanding Teen to eventually win the Miss SWOSU title.

Aubrey Beres of Oklahoma City (Westmoore) finished as first runner-up and winner of a $1,200 scholarship. Haley Finley of Cordell was second runner-up and winner of a $1,000 scholarship.

Dorn also won the Talent, Lifestyle & Fitness in Swim Suit and Peer Respect & Leadership Awards. Cassandra Purintun of Hinton won the Crowd Pleaser, Most Tickets Sold, and Scholarship Patron Sold Awards. All non-finalist contestants each won $500 SWOSU scholarships.

For winning the Miss SWOSU’s Outstanding Teen title, Lively won a $600 scholarship to SWOSU, $500 cash award, and over $2,000 in gift certificates and various gifts from area businesses. Lively also won the Talent Award.

Abi Beane of Altus finished as first runner-up. She won a $400 scholarship to SWOSU and various gifts and certificates. Evelynn Hills of Weatherford won second runner-up, $300 scholarship to SWOSU, and the Spirit Award.  

Kaylie Esparza of Weatherford won the Crowd Pleaser and Most Tickets Sold Awards. Sierra Stephens of Clinton and Lindsey Troglin of Mt. View tied for the Scholarship Patron Sold Award.

All non-finalists in the teen pageant each won $100 SWOSU scholarships.
