SWOSU Students & Clinton Fourth Graders Join for Gardening Project

Southwestern Oklahoma State University students (from left) Jamie Stockton, Sydnee Collins, Charis Kimble and Reagan Cabiness recently participated with 23 fourth graders in a gardening project at Southwest Elementary School in Clinton. The group planted 50 bulbs and a flat of pansies to enhance the elementary school’s garden. The SWOSU students conducted the service learning project as part of Dr. Ann Russell’s university course—Language Arts in Elementary. The fourth graders are in John Fowler’s class at Clinton. Gardening projects have been a yearly tradition for Russell and SWOSU students in her classes.
