Glow Prom for Special Olympians Planned February 22

Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s Student Council for Exceptional Children, Kappa Delta Pi and Weatherford High School’s Student Council are inviting students who qualify for Special Olympics to the 2019 Glow Prom, which is Friday, February 22, at the Weatherford Public Schools Performing Arts Center.

Glow Prom is for students in grades 7-12, adults, para-professionals and coaches who participate in Special Olympics.  The event will be held from 6-9 p.m.

Glow Prom has been designed to provide support and create community awareness.

“Our hope is that your athletes will come and enjoy a night of fun and entertainment that will put them in the spotlight,” said Dr. Tracy Henry, assistant professor in the SWOSU Department of Education.

This year’s festivities include food, bingo, face painting, photo booth photos and a live band—The British Invasion Group, a tribute band who takes people back in time to experience bands like the Beatles, The Dave Clark 5, The Zombies, The Rolling Stones, The Kings, The Yardbirds, and many more.

Suggested dress for the night is school appropriate attire.
