Camp Duke Planned July 16-19 for Incoming SWOSU Freshmen

Camp Duke for incoming freshmen is planned July 16-19 at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in Weatherford.

The New Student Orientation (NSO) office at SWOSU is hosting the camp.

Over 100 incoming freshmen are expected to attend the camp that is planned to help assist the students in making a metaphorical bridge between high school and their first college semester, according to NSO Coordinator Taler Alexander. The freshmen will participate in a wide range of activities to get acquainted with each other and get a feel for what to expect when the semester starts in August.

Students will be exposed to campus organizations, spend a day at Crowder Lake, and participate in a four-day competition between their groups. Campers will also have the opportunity to meet with faculty from their academic departments and learn more about student services and campus resources.
