SWOSU Drive Generates Enough Blood to Save 426 Lives
Southwestern Oklahoma State University students and area residents recently donated enough blood to save 426 lives at an Oklahoma Blood Institute (OBI) drive held on the Weatherford campus.
OBI Account Consultant Emma Meyer said 171 people signed in to give blood and 142 were able to donate. She said every donation can save three lives, so that is 426 lives saved thanks to the generous donors at the SWOSU drive.
“At OBI, we depend upon and value continued commitment to blood donation,” Meyer said. “We are grateful for the support of Southwestern Oklahoma State University. There is no substitute for life-saving blood, which brings hope, healing and comfort to patients and their families.”
SWOSU will host another blood drive on December 2-3 in the Wellness Center on the Weatherford campus.
