Black History Month Activities Planned at SWOSU

Southwestern Oklahoma State University’s Black Student Union is hosting several Black History Month activities through the month of February on the Weatherford campus.

The activities started with a movie night and additional events include:

  • Basketball Game

Saturday, February 8 ~ 1 pm ~ Pioneer Cellular Event Center

Black Student Union members will attend the basketball game wearing 80s/90s theme attire. All are welcome to participate!

  • Game Night

Monday, February 10 ~ 7 pm ~ Black Kettle Hall

The Black Student Union will be hosting UNO! Games all night! All are welcome to participate!

  • Valentines Fundraiser

Friday, February 14 ~ All Day ~ Pre-Order/Memorial Student Center

Support the Black Student Union by purchasing chocolate covered strawberries and boxes of chocolate!

  • Black Excellence Celebration

Monday, February 17 ~ 7 pm ~ SWOSU Memorial Student Center Ballroom

The Black Student Union welcomes you to celebrate black culture and heritage, featuring guest speaker Dr. Christina Kirk, founder of Prep U. This event is open to all!

  • Slam Jam Dinner

Monday, February 24 ~ 7 pm ~ SWOSU Memorial Student Center Ballroom

The Black Student Union is hosting a free Space Jam dinner open to all! Come enjoy a delicious meal!

Thursday, February 27 ~ 7:30 pm ~ Pioneer Cellular Event Center

The Black Student Union will be wearing all black to represent the Black Panther Party. All are welcome to participate!
