The SWOSU STEAM Dawg HOUSE Academy provides a fun and positive environment for hands-on learning opportunities that build knowledge, interest, and confidence in science, technology, engineering, arts & humanities, and mathematics (STEAM) fields for K-12 students and educators.
Topics and activities emphasize engineering, aerospace, health-related professions, creative arts and design, and communication while showcasing the interdisciplinary nature of STEAM. Activities are led by SWOSU faculty and students, along with SWOSU collaborators, to provide authentic STEAM experiences in the classroom, laboratory, field, studio, and workplace.
Overall, this program provides participants in Western Oklahoma with meaningful STEAM opportunities and helps to develop awareness of the careers, educational pathways, and future possibilities available to them.
