Music
Mark Osborn has been a member of the Oklahoma City Philharmonic since its beginning in 1989. He has taught orchestra in the Norman Public Schools since 1993 and began teaching bass at Southwestern Oklahoma State University in 2020. He is the conductor for Festival Strings Norman, a part of the Oklahoma Youth Orchestras. He also plays bass with the Oklahoma Virtuosi Chamber Orchestra and Lawton Philharmonic.
Mr. Osborn was the Double Bass Instructor at the University of Oklahoma from 2002- 2006. He was chosen as the Teacher Fellow for the Kennedy Center in 2001. He was a member of the Arkansas Symphony Orchestra for three seasons and has also participated in summer festivals in Waterloo, NJ; Chautauqua, NY; Hot Springs, AR; and Interlochen, MI.
Mr. Osborn resides in Norman with his wife and two daughters. He enjoys traveling and watching soccer. In 2015 he and his family traveled in an RV across Canada to watch the Women’s World Cup.
