    SWOSU’s Bachelor of Science in Education in Special Education prepares future teachers to create positive, supportive learning experiences for exceptional learners from Pre-K through 12th grade. Students develop skills in adaptive instruction, accommodations, modifications, advocacy, and individualized support for learners with diverse needs.

The Department of Education helps students move from college learner to professional educator through advising, classroom-based experiences, and preparation for certification.

    Students apply for admission to the Department of Education, typically during the sophomore year while enrolled in Foundations of Education. Admission is required before taking professional education and methods courses.
