Chris A. Craighead
Chris Craighead was born in Woodward, Oklahoma and was raised on a farm near Mutual, Oklahoma. He attended Sharon-Mutual public schools and graduated in 1974. He attended SWOSU from 1974 to 1978 majoring in business. Following college, Chris worked in several different capacities of the oil and gas industry in western Oklahoma. Chris married Paige Burton in 1980. He then started his company, Great Plains Well Logging, Inc. in 1987 which provides well site geological data to its customers. Originally, Chris was the sole employee, operating from his home office. Great Plains has since grown to employ up to 100+ employees, doing business in Oklahoma, Texas, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Michigan.
In 2007, Chris and Paige purchased Trans Pecos Well Logging, Inc. in Fort Stockton, Texas. Trans Pecos currently employs over 50 people. The company provides geological services to major and independently-owned oil and gas exploration companies in the Permian Basin of west Texas and New Mexico.
In 2006, following his family heritage, Chris again became involved in the cattle ranching business. As owner/operator of Dead End Ranches, LLC, he manages a cow-calf operation in Dewey and Woodward Counties.
Chris is an avid hunter. He also enjoys wildlife preservation, traveling and hiking.
S. Paige (Burton) Craighead
Paige Craighead was born in Richmond, Virginia. Her family lived in Virginia, Pennsylvania, Illinois and Connecticut before settling in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Paige graduated from Putnam City High School in 1976. She attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University where she met her husband, Chris. They were married in 1980. Paige graduated from SWOSU with a B.S. in Accounting in 1985. She worked as an accountant for a bank management firm for about five years before returning to SWOSU for graduate studies. While in school she was named to Who’s Who of American Colleges and Universities. Paige obtained a M.S. in Applied Psychology in 1995. She worked as a Licensed Professional Counselor for New Horizons and Red Rock Mental Health Centers. In 2000, Paige officially went to work for the company she and her husband, Chris founded, Great Plains Well Logging, Inc. She continues to work there today. Together, they purchased Trans Pecos Well Logging, Inc. in 2007. Both companies have grown to success through the volatility of the oil business.
Chris and Paige have been married and living in Weatherford, Oklahoma for 33 years. They have three daughters, Sara, Jillian and Abigail. She is involved in her church, PEO and other civic and social clubs through the years. In her spare time, Paige likes spending time with family or being active running, bicycling or hiking. She particularly enjoys participating in marathons and triathlons.
