D. Simulation IPPE Component

The second (2) component of the IPPE consist of a series of simulations of pharmacy practice experiences. These simulations will take place at various times during the curriculum and involve structured activities that are intended to replicate or simulate selected activities/duties/processes that occur in pharmacy practice.

1. OBJECTIVES

AT THE COMPLETION OF THE SIMULATION COMPONENT OF THE IPPE PROGRAM AT SOUTHWESTERN OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY COLLEGE OF PHARMACY, THE STUDENTS WILL BE ABLE TO:

  1. Demonstrate basic skills in gathering, interpreting, and evaluating selected patient information
  2. Administer immunizations via the intramuscular, subcutaneous, and intradermal routes of administration
  3. Provide point-of-care and patient-centered immunization services to the public, under the supervision of immunizing pharmacists
