The Good Life

"SWOSU Nursing prepared me to step confidently into the world of nursing – not just academically, but as a compassionate and resilient caregiver." Jonathan Martinez, RN (Class of 2025 traditional BSN program)

"My experience in the SWOSU Nursing program has been one that I am so grateful for. All of the professors and clinical adjuncts work together to create the best learning experience possible for students in both the classroom and clinical settings. The professors take the time to work individually with each student to ensure that we will be competent nurses. SWOSU also provides a diverse clinical experience. I truly believe SWOSU's clinical experience helps guide students to find their passion. SWOSU Nursing has developed my critical thinking skills, my communication skills, and given me the confidence that I can grow and succeed as a nurse." Kaylee McCarthy, RN (Class of 2025 traditional BSN program)

"SWOSU’s Nursing program is filled with instructors that truly want you to succeed in everything you do, school or not. Class sizes are perfect for creating relationships with instructors and classmates to work through any questions you might have. This program is perfect for getting the best education possible and applying almost immediately in a clinical setting." Mason Goforth, RN (Class of 2025 traditional BSN program)

"It had been 12 years since I was last in college earning my BSN, and SWOSU’s online MSN program is exactly what I was looking for. The 8-week structure has allowed me to work full time, balance family life, and remain a full-time student. The professors are exceptionally responsive and interactive, which makes the experience even more engaging. What I value most is being able to immediately apply the concepts I have learned to my daily work as a nurse leader. This program has been both flexible and impactful." Jamie Haucke (MSN program)

“I was involved in the first year of the master's program. I was surprised at the organization and consistent structure from course to course. I appreciated that the courses allowed me to pursue topics that aligned with the course outcomes that best suited my interests which kept me engaged. The research was extremely useful in each aspect of my career. Ultimately, earning this degree allowed me to pursue my passion of educating nursing students. I am proud to carry the name of SWOSU on my degree, as this school has a reputation for excellence amongst the nursing community.” Danielle Pierce (MSN program, education track)

“My name is Carrie Baggett, R.N. I started my nursing career as a nurse in 2005 by going to Vo-Tech to obtain my LPN. After working as an LPN, I wanted to further my nursing career to the next step as a Registered Nurse. In 2020, I went to Southwestern Oklahoma State University to start the process of earning my Registered Nurse. After obtaining my Associates Degree in General Studies, applying to the LPN-BSN Program, I was accepted into the program. Juliana Bell, MSN, BSN and Dr. Kylie Eaton, DNP, RN were very easy to talk to and to respond quickly to emails. The professors were all great in getting grades back to us and being there as a cheerleader, mentors, supporters and teachers. The program was perfect for me as a single mom and an employee full time employee. As a student of the LPN-BSN program you have to be very self-oriented, dedicated and organized. By attending this program, it has given me the opportunity to be a better nurse, a better coworker, and leader. I highly recommend the SWOSU LPN-BSN Program.”Carrie Baggett (LPN-BSN program)

“The SWOSU RN-BSN program gave me the flexibility I needed to manage school alongside work and family. The professors were approachable and encouraging, and I felt supported the whole way through. I left the program feeling academically prepared to step into the next phase of my nursing career.” Amanda Hacker, RN, BSN (Class of 2025 RN to BSN program)

"I chose to pursue my BSN to deepen my nursing knowledge and expand my career opportunities. The SWOSU bridge program stood out for its flexibility and affordability, and  I was further encouraged by co-workers who had completed it successfully. Balancing the coursework with full-time work proved manageable, and the clinical sites offered a valuable, real-world experience across a variety of nursing specialities. I was fortunate to learn from instructors who not only challenged me academically but also shared practical knowledge that continues to shape my nursing practice. I am truly grateful for this program!" -Tori Schockemoehl, Claremore (LPN-BSN program)
