Resident Housing Association

The Resident Housing Association, under the guidance of the Office of Residence Life and Housing, is responsible for planning, implementing, and working a variety of on-campus events throughout the academic year. These events include but are not limited to the Block Party, tailgate parties, and movie nights. RHA is involved in planning some of the biggest and best events SWOSU has to offer.

Additionally, RHA members also serve on the Residence Life and Housing Judicial Board. The Judicial Board exists to provide a fair and expedient means of handling discipline problems or incidents that occur in the residence halls. It is the mission of RHA (and specifically the Judicial Board) to handle residence hall issues fairly and in the best interest of the students and the University. Sanctions issued by the Judicial Board reflect educational values through focused attention on learning from circumstances, rather than mere punishment. The Judicial Board endeavors for students to walk away from the hearing experience as better residents and students.

RHA consists of seven members whose terms consist of a minimum of one academic year: President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Service Learning Coordinator, Judicial Board Coordinator, and Programming Coordinator. RHA members must live on campus and, as compensation for their time, energy, and effort, receive a partial room scholarship and meal plan.
